With all impression materials, the temperature at the time of injection is very important. The best temperature is about 21°C. In warmer conditions it is wise to keep the material cooled.

Mixing ratio:

The mixing ratio of addition vulcanizing materials is 1:1.

You can also choose condensation vulcanizing material. The base material of this is mixed with 2% hardener.

Viscosity refers to the fluidity (thickness) of a substance in its unvulcanized state. In principle, it does not depend on time. After mixing the two components, the viscosity changes.

Decisive for the accuracy of the impression is not the viscosity, but the elapsed time between the moment of mixing and the moment when the impression material is finally in the ear. Immediately after mixing the components, the vulcanization process begins, where the combination of temperature, mixing ratio and kneading time determines the accuracy of the impression. Under the right conditions, this process results in a normal copy of the ear canal and concha area. However, if the material in the impression pad is vulcanized too quickly, it results in an ear impression of an "inflated" ear.

Your client's age and degree of hearing loss play an important role in your choice of egger impression material to use. For an indication, please refer to the document "impression material = age + hearing loss".
